NWA Mexico offers its first show of February. The rivalry between Blue Demon Jr. and El Dandy continues as Worlds Heavyweight Champion Demon teams up with Hurricane Ramirez to battle Dandy and Scorpio Jr. Also scheduled Navaro Negro takes on Solar. Also PĂ©ndulo and Black Spider battle Cabellero de la Noche and Fantastik, with 2 more matches to be announced.

On February 13th, NWA Mexico will join the promotional efforts of Promociones Wagner, El Todo x el Todo, and Los Perros del Mal in bringing up a DREAM TEAM tag team match. And your NEW Worlds Heavyweight Champion!!!

On Saturday September 20th at the Ring of Honor Pay Per View, “Glory By Honor” Adam Pearce defeated Brent Albright to regain the legendary 10lbs. of gold. Adam locked Brent in the Crowbar and forced the submission. This marks the second time the title has changed hands in Ring of Honor. This also marks the second time that Adam Pearce has worn the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship.
:::I stand corrected:::
Alliance reader WhatInTheH informed that I mistakenly posted that the NWA Worlds Title match took place on the Ring of Honor pay per view, “Glory By Honor.” The Pay Per View was taped the night before.

NWA Mexico’s Results

Generally it was a good show. All the matches were 1 fall matches, which isn’t traditional in Lucha Libre. Incognito and Mango put on a good match. Also Solar versus Negro Navvaro was a classic when Negro finally defeated Solar for the Americas Championship. The audience was unfamiliar with Pearce and Albright, but they liked the match. This show is apparently going to be on TV this fall.

New Worlds Heavyweight Champion

A New Worlds Heavyweight Champion — a phrase that hasn’t been uttered in over 330 days.
The last time those words were spoken, they had to be translated from Spanish to English. The last time that phrase was spoken, the same two competitors: Adam Pearce and Brent Albright were battling for the legendary 10lbs. of gold in front of a sell out crowd in Puerto Rico. That night saw the Scrap Iron bested the Shooter. Last night it wasn’t the case.

For the first time in New York, the Worlds title changed hands. But the journey that landed Albright for this quest was a long winding road. Wrestling in the short lived Pro Wrestling Iron, trips to Pro Wrestling NOAH, a tenure in Ohio Valley where he was the 1st wrestler to hold of 3 titles of the promotion. Many were not sure what to think when his cup of coffee was finished with the WWE, but Albright bounced back debuting for Ring of Honor. Where the friendship of Albright and Pearce manifested into the Hangmen 3. Albright and Pearce’s friendship ultimately ended when Pearce won the Worlds title in Puerto Rico. And nearly 1 year later, Albright fulfilled his promise to win the Championship.
And now Albright’s future holds an open challenge in Chicago, Illinois on August 15. No one has accepted the open challenge. But everyone at the Alliance would like to congratulate the New Champion on his victory.

Clash of the Champions…

It all happened so fast. ‘Scrap Iron’ Adam Pearce has been World Champion for nearly a year now, all the while being a contracted Ring of Honor employee. The final four of the Worlds Title tournament were all contracted ROH wrestlers; Pearce, Bryan Danielson, Brent Albright, and Claudio Castagnoli. Immediately there was controversy in regards to Ring of Honor recognizing or even allowing the NWA title to be seen on their shows or pending Pay Per Views. It was understood at that point that ROH wouldn’t be affiliating themselves with the NWA. Pearce would be the man to fill the vacated NWA Worlds Championship, and his title wouldn’t be seen in ROH until June 6th 2008. Where he finally show his hand, in nailing Albright with a briefcase containing the NWA World Championship. Following the June 7th event in Philadelphia, a statement was issued. “What a glorious debut of a true belt with honor,” Sweeney said. “Right on PPV I threw it in the face of ROH officials. I pulled out the belt they are afraid of because they know it’s more prestigious. From Lou Thesz to Giant Baba to Terry Funk to Harley Race to Ric Flair to Adam Pearce, no belt in the history of wrestling has a prouder lineage. Now its under my control.”

A match has been signed for June 27th that will pit Nigel McGuinness against Adam Pearce, title versus title. For your enjoyment, here is a video of Pearce and tag team partner Shane Hagadorn versus Ruckus and Jigshaw.

9 Months in the Making… Albright v. Pearce

May 22nd, 16 men were announced as potential suitors for the Heavyweight Championship of the World, after the title being stripped away from Christian Cage. Of the 16 competitors Brent Albright was highly favored to win out his brackets and face the winner between Adam Pearce and Bryan Danielson. And although Danielson won that match, Pearce would face Albright. Danielson who was injured in another title match for Ring of Honor, was made the special referee. Albright and Pearce battled back and forth but it was Pearce who would have his hand raised at the end. Albright disgusted by the decision seemingly disappeared from the NWA. Pearce would go on to defend his title against notable opponents Damien Wayne, Sean Waltman, and a handful of talented wrestlers from the Southern California area. It wasn’t until the NWA Showcase, that Albright made his intentions clear. That he wanted Adam Pearce. Albright battled through the rankings in the NWA to earn his title shot at Pearce. Pearce began attacking the challenger week after week. Unaffected by the cheap shots , was has been building for 9 months finally comes to a head.

World Heavyweight Championship match between “The Gunner” Brent Albright and “Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce.

Also scheduled to appear; The Man Who Rules The World, Sid, North American Champion Mike DiBiase, French Stallion, Tristan Gallo, Chaz Taylor and The Skullz.

All this takes place in Enid, Oklahoma on May 31st.

World Championship Match: Pearce vs. Danielson

One hundred percent of The Alliance readers have voted. In the first ever land slide poll on this Blog, the fans demand to see Bryan Danielson versus Adam Pearce.

Bryan Danielson has perfected his craft through out the years in various territories and for numerous promotions. Danielson early days started as he trained with WWE’s Shawn Michaels and trained next to, two current WWE Superstars now in Brian “Spanky Kendrick and Lance Cade. The three trained with Shawn Michaels and Rudy Gonzales at the Texas Wrestling Academy. November 11th, 1999, The American Dragon, Lance Cade, and Shawn Michaels traveled to Japan to compete for Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling (FWM.) Not only was this Danielson’s first match in Japan, which would be repeated multiple times, but was also met with much success. Cade and Danielson beat the team of Mammoth Sasaki & Naohiko Yamazaki.

After signing a developmental deal with WWE, the trio were shipped to Memphis Championship Wrestling and under the tutelage of William Regal and Bobby Eaton, Danielson was developing a style that would make him one of the most dominant Indy wrestlers the United States has ever seen. Danielson was released by the WWE and soon became a regular in Northern California’s APW. Becoming the King of the Indies in 2001 and becoming one of the corner stones to Ring of Honor. It wasn’t long before Danielson was being booked on both coasts with Ring of Honor, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, New Japan/USA and various others. It also wasn’t long before Danielson was becoming a global phenomenon. Danielson would go on to wrestle in England, Germany, and New Japan Pro Wrestling. Danielson was a hot commodity. Eventually Danielson was Heavyweight Champion in Ring of Honor, Heavyweight Champion in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, competing for NOAH, in Japan, and solidifying his claim to be the greatest wrestler in the World.

Then the day came… the challenge was made.

On August 18, Danielson defeated Adam Pearce in the semifinals of the NWA World Heavyweight Championship Tournament. He was scheduled to face Brent Albright for the title in Puerto Rico on September 1st. However, on August 25, Danielson fought Morishima in an attempt to regain the ROH World Title. He lost in what was immediately described as one of the best matches in the promotion’s history. During this match, he suffered an orbital fracture and a retina injury. The NWA announced on August 27th that due to the injury, Danielson would be unable to compete in the September 1st title match, and that Adam Pearce would be selected in his place to face Albright. Danielson was later chosen to be the special referee for the bout as announced on August 30 at NWAWrestling.com. Danielson made the pin with supposedly both men’s shoulders on the mat, yet awarding the win and thus the belt to Adam Pearce.*
Now a little less than six months later, Danielson has yet been given a title shot. Even when 40%** of the NWA Message Board fans predicted him to win the title. Even when he already had defeated Adam Pearce. And with all of this, nobody has booked this match. With this much history nobody has volunteered to host this match. Pearce continues to face all comers. Yet not one promotion sanctioned by the NWA has booked “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson to face the Heavyweight Champion of the World, “Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce.
