NWA Southwest set to host Blue Demon Jr. and his World Championship

Worlds Heavyweight Champion Blue Demon has been quite the busy bee this Summer. With appearances in Toronto, all over Mexico; for X-LAW as a special guest referee, as a guest at the Jonas Brother’s Concert, and successful defenses of the crown in San Francisco and Santa Maria California and Phoenix Arizona. The 22nd Ranked PWI wrestler will be defending his title in Corpus Christi and Brownsville Texas on the 21st and 22nd of September. No opponents have been named yet, but Demon’s defenses will be in NWA Southwest promotions GCWA and Paradise Pro Wrestling.

***UPDATES***

With a hat tip to DKM of the Alliance Message Board (see it pays to read the board) Demon’s opponent for the 22nd is “Idolo De Brownsville” Golden King. More news as it breaks.

COLLISION COURSE

Confirmed in the last NWA Pro Wrestling YouTube Video, The Worlds Champion will face the AWA Superstars of Wrestling Heavyweight Champion at the 4th Annual AWA Meeting of the Territories.
As of right now that match shakes up to be “Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce taking on the “Living Legend” Larry Zbyszko. Zbysko is a former two time AWA Heavyweight Champion defeating the likes of Jerry Lawler and Masa Saito. Zbyszko was awarded the AWA Superstars of Wrestling Heavyweight Championship when the AWA Superstars of Wrestling parted ways with Zero-One MAX and striped Masato Tanaka of the title, since Zbyszko was the last AWA Heavyweight Champion. “The Living Legend” has a scheduled defense at an Superstars of Wrestling Event, one week before the Collision Course, at Wrestle Race 8.0 which will take place in Indianapolis, Indiana. His opponent has yet to be named.
Pearce is no stranger to the AWA Superstars of Wrestling. Pearce cut his teeth in the Midwest competing early on in some of the AWA Superstars or Wrestling earliest events. But before Pearce can take part in this uneasy homecoming he has to get through some stiff competition. As previously reported Pearce has a scheduled defense against former Worlds Champion “Shooter” Brent Albright. This will mark the 5th time the two wrestlers have faced off for the title. Pearce’s history with Albright one could liken to the history of the “Nature Boy” Ric Flair and “Handsome” Harley Race. Pearce has a big opstacle facing him in Corpus Christi Texas, but a victory against Albright will lead him to this epic match.

All of this takes place At the 4th Annual AWA Meeting of the Territories, AMF Lanes and Family Entertainment Center, The Home of AWA Brew City Wrestling 901 Northview Road, Waukesha, Wisconsin with a 7:30 p.m. Bell Time.

I was right all along. Pearce IS A WINNER!!!

Charlotte, NC (August 27, 2007) – Due to an injury sustained over the weekend, and emergency eye surgery this morning, “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson has been eliminated from the NWA World Championship Tournament Finals set to take place this Saturday September 1 in Puerto Rico. The decision to remove Danielson was made by the NWA Board of Directors after Executive Director Robert K. Trobich conducted several conversations with Danielson’s physicians.

When reached for comments Trobich said “I have been on the phone all day with Bryan Danielson and his doctors. Bryan has been literally begging to be permitted to wrestle in the NWA title tournament final this Saturday in Puerto Rico against Brent Albright. Like all wrestling fans, I was eagerly anticipating the first-ever match-up between two world-class warriors like Danielson and Albright, with the biggest prize in wrestling hanging in the balance. However, as gutsy a fighter as Bryan is, there is simply no way he can be medically cleared to fight in this match after such serious surgery. Brent Albright deserves his shot at the belt, now, however. In that regard, after hours of discussions with the NWA board, I have decided that the title match will go on as scheduled, and Adam Pearce, who just met Danielson in a hotly-contested semifinal match ten days ago, will step into the final in Danielson’s place.”

Everyone in the National Wrestling Alliance wishes Danielson a safe and speedy recovery.

After that announcement from Robert K. Trobich Pearce had been down, but not out. Pearce Daddy was previously eliminated from the tournament. He was pinned by Bryan Danielson in Canada. But Danielson who was injured via a Lariat from ROH’s Morshima sent Danielson on the DL. With Danielson out, Adam Pearce had the opportunity to come up big. Scrap Iron made the best of a bad situation and will now be the most watned man in the NWA.

Here’s a clip of some of the interesting aftermath.
