Timothy Dixon’s Tradition vs Retribution vs New Blood

NWA: New Beginnings – March 14th, Charlotte – NWA World’s Heavyweight Championship Match – Champion Blue Demon Jr. vs Phill Shatter vs Adam Pearce
On Sunday, March 14th at the University Hilton in Charlotte at NWA: New Beginnings, the “Legendary 10 Pounds of Gold” will be on the line as Blue Demon Jr. defends the NWA World Heavyweight Championship in a triple threat elimination match against “Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce and “The Universal Soldier” Phill Shatter. All three competitors bring a different element to this match, which has become one of the most talked about NWA World title matches in recent memory.

Tradition:

The lineage of Blue Demon Jr starts with his father, the original Blue Demon. Widely considered to be one of the greatest Mexican wrestlers of his time, Blue Demon set a standard that is carried on to this day by the current NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Blue Demon Jr. Winning the Championship in October of 2008, Blue Demon Jr. became the first masked wrestler and first Mexican wrestler to hold the legendary belt and has also become the longest reigning champion of this century. His connection to history and tradition exemplify much of what the National Wrestling Alliance represents.

Retribution:

In October 2008, Blue Demon Jr. won the Championship from the then Champion, “Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce. In a match in Mexico City, Demon trapped Pearce in a single leg Boston Crab and Pearce, succumbing to the pain, passed out, giving Demon the win and the Belt. However, at the time that he passed out, Pearce’s right arm was clearly underneath the bottom rope which, in Pearce’s mind, nullified the victory for Demon. For the past year and a half, Pearce has loudly proclaimed that he is the true World Heavyweight Champion and that Blue Demon has never given him his rematch. This Sunday Pearce will get his shot at Blue Demon and his retribution.

New Blood:

The current NWA National Champion, “The Universal Soldier” Phill Shatter represents the new breed of competitor in the National Wrestling Alliance. A former Marine from Hickory, NC, Shatter grew up dreaming of becoming a World Champion. A multiple time champion in NWA Anarchy, Shatter has traveled all over the country making a name for himself and has held the NWA National Championship for over a year, winning the title last January from Crusher Hanson. Last month in Charlotte, Shatter earned his shot at the Championship by defeating Adam Pearce and solidifying his claim to the number 1 contender position. However, Pearce has worked his way into the match, making it a three way elimination match for the belt. While competitors like Shatter are, undoubtably, the future of the National Wrestling Alliance, can Phill Shatter get by the two men that stand in his way to realizing his dream?

Tradition – Retribution – New Blood

Sunday, March 14th at the University Hilton in Charlotte, they will all come together in a clash for the ages with the richest prize in the sport of professional wrestling on the line. Three men will come into this match, but only one will have his hand raised in victory. Only one will leave with the Legendary 10 Pounds of Gold. Only one will earn the right to be called the NWA World Heavyweight Champion.

Adam Pearce Says NWA "Finally Did Something Right!"

CHARLOTTE, NC — (March 8, 2010) — Former NWA World Heavyweight champion Adam Pearce claims “the NWA Board of Directors finally did something right,” and touts NWA: New Beginnings this Sunday as the place where he will regain his world championship after a 2-year struggle with the organization for a rematch.

Pearce, who’s also the current booker for Ring of Honor, lost the NWA World championship on a very controversial decision back in October 2008. A dazed Pearce clearly had an arm under the ropes as the referee awarded the match to current champion Blue Demon Jr.

The NWA Board stood by the referee’s decision, and Pearce has been on a long campaign seeking a rematch against the very popular and well-liked Blue Demon Jr.

The current champ — the first ever masked man or hispanic to ever hold the coveted “10 Pounds of Gold” — was originally scheduled to face North Carolina native and current NWA National champ Phill Shatter.

Shatter, a former Marine known as the “Universal Soldier,” became number one contender for the world title with a win over Pearce last month in Charlotte.

But after some fierce lobbying from NWA: New Beginnings, wanting to settle the issue once and for all, the NWA Board of Directors has sanctioned the first-ever 3-way elimination match for the NWA World Championship.

Pearce. Demon. Shatter. Three men enter. Two men will be eliminated. The remaining combatant will no doubt be the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.

It all takes place this Sunday afternoon, March 14 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Don’t miss your chance to be a part of this history-making event. For more info and to purchase advance tickets, please visit http://www.NWALegends.com and click on the New Beginnings banner!

NWA New Beginnings is set to launch in 17 Days!!!

17 Days and counting until Greg Price’s NWA New Beginnings launches its inaugural event and what a jam packed event it will be.  First and foremost our Worlds Heavyweight Champion is scheduled to defend his title against a yet to be named opponent.  The Worlds Champion has defended the title all over the American Southwest, but this will mark the first time Demon will wrestle a sanctioned NWA World Championship match on the East Coast.  And there will be another first meeting.
The much anticipated match up between “The Universal Solider” Phil Shatter defending his National Heavyweight Championship against former NWA World Champion “Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce.  Shatter has met many world class competitor in his year long reign, including Larry Zbyszko, Mikal Judas, Tristan Gallo, Ace Rockwell, Orion Bishop, Caprice Coleman, and Truitt Fields.  Shatter has defended that belt in Hollywood CA, McKeepsport PA, Cornelia GA, and Charlotte NC.
But Shatter has never faced a competitor in the likes of Adam Pearce.  Pearce is a 2 time World Champion. “Scrap Iron” is still collecting championships.  Pearce recently defeated Dru Onyx to win the NWA British Commonwealth Championship.
Both of these men plan on using this National Championship match to springboard them to the next level.  To put them into a World Championship Match, with Blue Demon Jr.  Only one of these men will walk away as the National Heavyweight Champion.  Only one of these men will walk away with the attention of Blue Demon Jr.  February 14th, Shatter vs. Pearce, the entire NWA will be watching this match.  The entire landscape is about to change as we all await to see the New Beginnings of the NWA..

NWA World champion Blue Demon Jr!]NWA World Champ Blue Demon Jr. Coming Sunday, February 14; Plus, Shatter To Defend National Championship Against Pearce!

We’re extremely happy to announce that Mexican luchador Blue Demon Jr., the current NWA World champion, has just signed on for the February 14 kickoff of NWA: New Beginnings! in Charlotte.

The son of Blue Demon (an icon in Mexican wrestling and culture,) making his first-ever appearance in North Carolina, will defend his championship belt against a yet-to-be-named opponent.

Click here for some background information on Blue Demon, Jr., the first Mexican and first masked luchador to hold the NWA World championship.

We’re also happy to announce the Valentine’s Day challenger for Phill Shatter’s NWA National title belt.

“Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce, himself a former NWA World champion and current booker for Ring of Honor, has signed on as challenger for Shatter’s National championship, but one has to wonder if his sights aren’t still set on Blue Demon, Jr. as well.

Pearce is still protesting his October 25, 2008 title loss in Mexico City, when he passed out from Blue Demon Jr.’s Single-leg Boston crab. The video of the match, which you can see in the right column below, clearly shows Pearce’s right arm was under the bottom rope, yet the referee’s decision to stop the match was allowed to stand.

NWA: New Beginnings! is happy to add to the mix these two world-class athletes — and two championship matches — to our huge lineup Sunday afternoon, February 14!

NWA Wildside from the Vault: NWA World Title Feud – Sabu vs. AJ Styles

Bill Behrens sent this…

Sabu was NWA World Champion and in December of 2000 he came to NWA Wildside to defend the title over two nights. The first night vs Air Paris was a bad night for Sabu, so the next night we needed to explain the 1st night, see Sabu early (just in case) and hopefully pay it all off in the Main Event, which we did. We started with Sabu attacked by AJ Styles, Onyx, Tank Abbott, Jeff G Bailey & Steve Martin. AJ took the World Title and we shot a vignette, then AJ wrestled Air Paris & eventually Sabu.
