NWA Fusion Meltdown Taping, Nov. 14th

Not to be confused with the Floridian based Pro Wrestling Fusion, the folks from Virgina are getting back at it. This November 14th, from the King and Queen Elementary School. No card has been released yet, but I imagine that the “Mempho Mofo” Mark Bravura, Shiek Ali Akbar’s Army, The Geordie Bulldogs, CA Elliot, the American Ranger, The Hatriot”The Pain Train” Preston Quinn, Grail, and “Mr. Mid-Atlantic” Damien Wayne.

NWA Fusion Meltdown Episode 3 (June 2009) from Mark Bravura on Vimeo.

On this Episode of NWA Fusion Meltdown, Preston Quinn and Grail take on Assault and Battery, Carlos Hotness and Victor Griff, in tag team action. Wiseguy Jimmy Cicero returns to the NWA to face Zach Hilton. Marcus “King Kong” Dowling explains his arrival in NWA Fusion. And one of the most popular athletes in the NWA makes his Meltdown debut, the American Ranger goes one on one with The Nordic Manbeast Vulstagg from Sheik Ali Akbar’s Army. Can the Hatriot be far behind?

Stunning Turn of events for NWA Virgina

After years of service to the NWA, former NWA New York and NWA Virgina promoter is stepping away from the wrestling business. O’Brien is pursuing higher education, going after his second Master’s degree. His goals are to eventually pursue a PhD.

O’Brien also informed me that although there will not be a weekly World Wide Wrestling episodes, it seems that he plans on releasing some of his library. “… there just isn’t enough time to get editing done on a regular basis… There will be new stuff eventually, just not weekly like we were planning.”
Although Rick O’Brien will be missed, it was reported that NWA Virgina will continue. O’Brien will certainly be missed, but here at the Alliance we wish him all the luck in the future. And we certainly hope to see O’Brien to return to the NWA sooner than later.

[[[UPDATE]]]

Mr. David Marquez working as my editor has informed me that Rick O’Brien will still be a member of the National Wrestling Alliance. I apologize to Rick for misreporting he isn’t.

Better Late then Never: Presenting the World Wide Wrestling

World Wide Wrestling Debuts!!!

Please don’t be confused by the title, I meant more that I’m late posting this information, then any delays on the production. It seems that the NWA Virgina project spear-headed by NWA Virgina Promoter Rick O’Brien and NWA Forum Moderator, John Price.Word on the street is that this project will begin to include talent from the NWA Virgina Affiliate s, NWA Southern Pro Wrestling. With my understanding, that an invitation will be made to other nearby NWA promotions. My first thought is, this will be a great opportunity for NWA Virgina and its constituents to get some much deserved attention. Damien Wayne is the current NWA Virgina Heavyweight Champion and they harbor some gifted talent. I hope that this will inspire other members to follow suit.

I wasn’t blown away with what I saw. My critiques I have passed along to Mr. Price, however, I love the idea. I’ve read some reviews, that have already been posted on web forums like the DeathValleyDriver.com and National Wrestling Alliance that have been very positive.

The brackets have been set up. The matches have been announced. The dates have been set. The NWA World Title Tournament is now a reality. The rumors, speculation, and suspense is over. We have a sweet 16. And the 16 men in the tournament represent many nations across the board. 10 Participants are American, 1 Participant is Japanese, 1 Participant is Irish, 1 Participant is Austrailian, 1 Participant is Mexican, 1 Participant is Swiss, and 1 Participant is Canadian. Many NWA promotions are being represented; Pro, Anarchy, Virgina, ECCW, Midwest, and Oklahoma/UCW. And promotions like Bluegrass and Top Rope are hosting these matches. It is showing unity and teamwork through out the alliance.
