NWA Introduces a new Mini Worlds Championship

Credit: Pro Wrestling Revolution

NWA™ World’s Mini Championship

Charlotte, NC (September 1, 2009) – Over the years, the National Wrestling Alliance® has sanctioned matches featuring the greatest fighters in pro wrestling
, competing for World Championships. Today, the six-decade old governing body is making history by bringing back a World Championship that has been dormant for 50 years, the NWA™ World’s Mini Championship.

“The Hispanic community has been one of our fastest-growing demographics over the past few years and with the popularity of the Mini’s in Lucha Libre, we’ve decided that a Championship should be created for these smaller athletes. In the past, we’ve had other versions of a ‘Midget’ title, but we believe that this Championship will gain a lot of attention and add additional excitement to our live events and television,” said NWA Executive Director Robert K. Trobich.

The idea of “Mini” title was brought to Trobich by NWA: Pro Wrestling Revolution Promoter Gabriel Ramirez. His promotion has led the way in expanding the NWA’s vision of adding more Lucha Libre entertainment to their events.

“Business had never been better for us here in the Bay Area and Central California, we have been enjoying great houses and sponsorship opportunities with major media outlets in our area’s since going more ‘Lucha’. Blue Demon, Jr. (NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion) is not only a legend, but also a media darling and fan favorite. It is our hope that the ‘Mini’ Worlds Championship will add to the ever building curiosity that we create for our fans, states Ramirez.

A Champion will be crowned on September 20th in Watsonville, CA at the Santa Cruz County Fair grounds in a match featuring two of the world’s best-known “Mini’s” Piratita Morgan and Octagoncito.

NWA Pro Wrestling Revolution’s Breaking News!!!

The open door policy that Pro Wrestling Revolution has with the Lucha World has benefited the Lucha based promotion in its short tenure. PWR has seen the faces of former WWE stars like Gangrel, Big Vito, and former ECW wrestler Balls Mahoney. But the list also includes lots of Lucha Stars like; Super Parka, Rey Misterio Sr., Incognito, Super Crazy, Hijo De Sicodelico, and El Guapo himself. Shocker, the man who is 1000% handsome and responsible for recruiting talent into CMLL has made big waves for Pro Wrestling Revolution. But recruiting non other than the “Worlds Strongest Man” Jon Anderson.

Anderson whose fame was derived from many Strongman Competitions that were seen on ESPN and Fox Sports first started his training in 2007 at All Pro Wrestling, in Northern California. Aside from his matches in APW and Pro Wrestling Revolution, Jon Anderson has shown is power in Japan for the Inoki Genome Federation. Now with his experiences stateside, abroad in Japan, and now Mexico, Anderson is making his mark on the sport of professional wrestling.

Congrats to Anderson and Pro Wrestling Revolution.

NWA Pro Wrestling Revolution on OWW Radio

Recently NWA Pro Wrestling Revolution promoter joined the Online World of Wrestling Radio Show. You can hear Gabe Ramirez on OWW Radio. Or to read the full recap.

Pro Wrestling Revolutions Owner Gabe Ramirez segment begins with Nick introducing Gabe. Some of the highlights of the interview include questions about how a Promoter handles top tier talents who refuse to job or put over others. Nick asked the question what does NWA do for an Independent Promotion and how does the talent pool work? Blue Demon Jr. was mentioned as well as other noticeable individuals such as NWA Heritage Champ Oliver Jon and Border Patrol, Hijo de Rey Mysterio, Polyester Express, Rock of Love and Strongman Jon Anderson. Steve Corino and his comments that he made during an interview on OWW Radio regarding Mr. Wrestling IV was countered by Gabe. In the interview with Corino he mentioned that he feels disrespected that Mr. Wrestling IV never came to him for the ok of the use of the name Mr. Wrestling IV. Gabe in returned expressed that this is an issue with the two parties and not him. He added that NWA has no problem with Mr. Wrestling IV so Corino shouldn’t either. Gabe also stated that he reached out to Steve Corino and Steve hadn’t replied. The interview ended with Gabe promoting his Arizona show coming up August 9th.

NWA Pro Wrestling Revolution in Bakersfiled

Pro Wrestling Revolution makes its debut in Bakersfield at the Bakersfield Dome. This maybe our debut in the area but we are very familiar as we have had a presence in the area before. This time around we come to you with a flurry of media taking part, from television, radio and print and we hope we can make a difference.

The Dome has had wrestling and lucha libre in the past, but we feel we are bringing you something that brings a quality product, from behind the curtain to the ticket takers, don’t let past the rocky past fool you.

The line up we have set is strong but with out knowing what is taking place the day before in Santa Maria, we can only assume tempers will be at a high level before the doors even open at the Dome in Bakersfield. One thing is for sure, the feuds continue, the action will be top quality and the winners in all of this are the fans. We hope to see old fans and make new ones as we attempt to make Bakersfield and the Dome a new home for Pro Wrestling Revolution.

NWA Pro Wrestling Revolution presents Lucha Mania!

Credit Pro Wrestling Revolution

Santa Maria has had its share of big shows from Pro Wrestling Revolution, but this show has it the maximum it can take. We started at Santa Maria High School, headed over to Orchid and now we are taking it to the Santa Maria Fair Park, where all the major events take place. The fans have come to know exactly who we are and what we have to offer. We bring you to Santa Maria… Lucha Mania!

The feud with the Border Patrol team of Zach Reeb & Derek Sanders and El Hijo de Rey Misterio has come to a head and this show will decide and fill the vacancy of the Pro Wrestling Revolution tag titles.

This brings us to the match up of two people, athletes, wrestlers, who flat out do not like each other and nothing seems to be able to get them to move past their differences. Pro Wrestling Revolution Heavyweight Champion and NWA World Heavyweight Champion Blue Demon Jr. will face off, again… and this time in a cage match. Nobody knows what can happen and what will take place, and we can only hope that this will solve their issues.

We encourage all our fans to come out and witness history in the making!

A New DISPUTED NWA World Champion?!?!

Courtesy of NWA Pro Wrestling Revolution

This past Saturday while some were enjoying picnics or baseball games the crowd in Northern California were shocked and awed when Dual-Champion “Old School” Oliver John pinned Blue Demon Jr. Demon known for using the RED Leather and Gold championship for media events was pinned. Only the Demon in question was a fraud. In a move that was a throwback to Sid Vicious pinning a mock Sting, Oliver John’s opponent was said to be a stooge. Blue Demon Jr. did appear later in the show with the Legendary 10lbs. of Gold. Demon did win the match that was considered a non-title match. How this plays out is anyone’s guess, but in the words of Oliver John, “I am a Triple Champion and thats all there is to it!”

Sabor de la Noche – Revolucion from Gabriel Ramirez on Vimeo.

Unfortunately this video is a little hard to understand if you don’t speak Spanish. However the action is worth watching as this appears to be a feature on NWA Pro Wrestling Revolution. This video mostly features El Hijo de Rey Misterio but also features TNA’s Raisha Saeed, SoCal Pro Wrestling’s Cool Imagery, and the villainous Border Patrol. Check it out.
