Main Event announced for Fred Ward Memorial 08

In light of the events that took place this past Thursday in Phenix City, Great Championship Wrestling has announced that the main event of the Fred Ward Memorial will be Cru Jones versus Bull Buchanan in a Bull Rope Match for the GCW Heavyweight Title.

For those of you who missed it, GCWACTION.COM will have footage later this week of last Thursdays massacre by Cru Jones on Bull Buchanan, which lead to this monumental main event match being signed for September 4th at the Fred Ward Memorial.

Things are heating up at the Great Skate Plex. In July Cru Jones, 1/2 of Hot Like Lava, parlayed his Tag Team Championship success into a one night tournament to determine a new number one contender. Not only did Jones defeated Scotty Beach, but he also defeated tag team partner Shaun Banks and David Young before becoming the number one challenger to Johnny Swinger. Staying Hot, Jones ended up defeating Micha Taylor in a triple threat match against Taylor and Heavyweight Champion Johnny Swinger.

In between trips to Pro Wrestling NOAH, Bull Buchanan teamed up with Scotty Beach and defeated the champs, Hot Like Lava.
