Harley Race Bracket: 1st Match

There is a long storied history between these two. Their legacy crossed while wrestling in Ultimate Pro Wrestling as a tag team known as Hardkore Inc. Not only did they compete in UPW but also in Mexico Indy scene as the San Diego Horsemen. Most recently they have stood in opposite sides of the ring in the NWA Pro’s Affiliate AWS. The match will be fearce as both men know each other very well.

Aaron Aguilera has very little to prove. He is probably the most well recognized name in the tournament. He was on a National Showcase while competing in Wrestling Society X. He wrestled for the WWE as Jesus, in which he had a high profile feud with John Cena. He has competed in Austrailia, Japan, Mexico, and most recently Puerto Rico. He’s also been on such tv shows as Mind of Mencia and in commercials for Alltel. He is a legitimate heavyweight. He’s in the best shape of his life. He has a diverse background with traditional training in Lucha Libre (6’6 Luchador???), He’s trained at the Dojo with the likes of Samoa Joe, Bradley Jay, American Dragon, Rocky Romero, TJ Perkins, amongst many others. In this match he has the distinct advantage of not only that he’s bigger than Pearce, but he’s also more agile and quicker.

On the flip side, Adam Pearce has been gaining prominence in the US competing for Ring of Honor and wrestling on the NWA Pro showcase. Pearce’s background is in a Memphis style of wrestling. He is a great athlete, but usually will look for a shortcut and generally finds one. Pearce’s matches usually consist of him bullying the smaller wrestler, but in this case, Pearce actually is the smaller man. If Pearce can keep Aaron Aguilera grounded this this surely will be his match to win.

The bottom line
is, my prediction is Aaron Aguilera. Aguilera is no stranger to big time matches. He’s performed on Pay Per View. Pearce is no stranger to gold formerly holding both the UPW World Title and the PWG World Title. Heck he even currently is the NWA Pro Heritage Champion. His resilience on C. Edward Vanderpyle will be neutralized by the possible appearance of El Jefe. Pearce has lost to Aguilera already in NWA Pro’s AWS, which means he already knows how to defeat Pearce. In my mind, there is no doubt that Pearce will be World Champion down the road.

Here is a match of “Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce from ROH
