NWA Charlotte… Maybe I spoke too soon!

NO ONE WILL HOLD US BACK!

Much like an inspirational video I watched in health class as a freshman, NWA Charlotte will not let anyone hold them back. In a rapid turn of events, with a lot of emotional out pour from the fans, NWA Charlotte has decided that maybe this isn’t the end.

As previously stated the promotion already had poured large amounts of money into a professional building to hold their events. However, it wasn’t up to fire-code. Seemingly though, the Charlotte Fire Marshals may give the NWA Charlotte group conditional approval to fire up the Wrestling Factory. The consistent message from both owners of NWA Charlotte, Joyce and Costello, is that the NWA will be back in Charlotte soon than later.

This is great news for the fans in Charlotte, as their branch of the NWA was really putting together some interesting storylines, a great mix of talent, an interesting video webcast, and they even added Chance Prophet into the mix. That makes them a winner in my book and I hope the fans of the NWA continue to make the NWA in Charlotte a destination for wrestling. Good luck to Joyce and Costello!

NWA Pro Wrestling Revolution says Audios to Bolivia

CANCELLED the visit to Bolivia de Hijo of King Misterio, Oliver John and the list of PWR

Apparently controversy regarding El Hijo De Rey Misterio seems to be the biggest issue. The problem is that the local promoters were promoting El Hijo De Rey Misterio as WWE’s Rey Mistreo. Also known as Rey Misterio Jr., who was trained by his Uncle Rey Misterio. El Hijo de Rey Misterio is the cousin of Rey Misterio Jr. Unfortunately there was some confusion. Spanish speaking cultures should know the difference, especially those familiar with Lucha Libre.

Although some are reporting that the “Swine Flu” may also play a part. As a lot of countries now are boycotting visitors from the United States and Mexico.

NWA Charlotte: We hardly knew ye!

NWA Charlotte closes doors.

After the weekend from hell, NWA Charlotte calls it quits. Between NWA in fighting between NWA Charlotte and NWA Mid-Atlantic, Charlotte Police and Fire Dept. shutting down their venue, and “El Hijo de Nature Boy” Reid Flair getting busted for a DUI and possession. The doors are shutting for good. Siting the poor economy, owners Jay Joyce and JD Costello have both posted their good-byes.

I know its easy as an arm-chair “booker” wondering how things could be so bad it can’t be saved, it is being reported that it cost $250,000 to secure that building and will cost an additional $200,000 to bring it to code.

New NWA Heritage Heavyweight Champion

Oliver John was crowned the 6th NWA Heritage Champion when he was victorious in a 4 Way Elimination Match at the Las Vegas, Nevada Pro Wrestling Revolution show. World Renown Indy Star Chris Hero, World League Wrestling’s Steve Anthony, Reigning Champion Ryan Taylor, and Pro Wrestling Revolution Heavyweight Champion Oliver John locked horns for the prized Heritage championship. This was the title that propelled ‘Scrap Iron’ Adam Pearce to the Worlds Title.

The main event of the evening was a 4-Way Elimination bout for the NWA Heritage Title as champion Ryan Taylor defended against Border Patrol leader Oliver John, Steve Anthony from Harley Race’s school in Missouri and internationally renown star Chris Hero. The four squared off in front of the legends of the Cauliflower Alley Club. Anthony was eliminated by Oliver John. Taylor managed to pin the PWG Heavyweight Champion Chris Hero. Lastly John was able to defeat Taylor.

NWA Pro Wrestling Revolution hosted the event for the second consecutive year that featured TNA Knockouts Awesome Kong and O.D.B. and top rising NWA stars such as Mr. Wrestling IV, Cheerleader Melissa, Black Metal, Derek Sanders, The Polyester Express, Chris Kadillak, “Ghostwalker” G.Q.Gallo, Rik Luxury, Billy Blade, M.P.T., Bobby Robinson and more.
